Western Riding in Scotland

Western Riding In Scotland

This website has been set up to provide information on the various activities that are happening in Scotland in relation to Western equestrianism.

Western riders are represented in Scotland by a number of organisations. Events and gatherings are arranged by each of them and sometimes they pool their resourses to run joint events e.g. shows.

The western riding organisations currently contributing to this website are:-

  • The Western Equestrian Society  (WES)
  • The American Quarter Horse Association UK  (AQHA)
  • Scottish Reining
  • Scottish Appaloosas
  • The Western Performance Pony Association   (WPPA)

Information posted by these organisations can be found under the corresponding page button.

At the top of each page you will see the dates on which amendments have been made.  This may save you from having to read the content over and over again to find the new stuff.

Special  Announcement

The western Enthusiasts meeting at Gleneagles HAS BEEN CANCELLED the date does not suit the majority of people and I have felt it better to cancel this meeting rather than go ahead with a handfull of attendees! Please let any one who does not have web access know! I will publish a newsletter in the next week any items requiring the attention of WES members please email them to me as soon as possible preferably by Friday 21st. Any trophies or rosettes to go out will be posted if possible but I intend to hold a reps meeting in January so any I have been unable to get out will have to go out via the Area Reps. Please feed back any issues to your area reps at the AGM s for each area so that at the Area reps meeting we can discuss them fully. A copy of the newsletter will also be publishes on the website.

Best wishes
